This next review comes about because of one of my best friends named Matt. You might remember me mentioning Matt in my review of the La Diosa, as he is responsible for me reviewing thatphenomenal cigar. Him and I usually talk a couple times a week, more often than not each of us smoking a cigar and BS’ing about this and that. A few months back, he kept going on and on about the Chateau Fuente Queen B by Arturo Fuente, asking if I had found one yet. I obviously had not. My luck changed for the better recently with my wife and I visiting our favorite cigar shop in the area, we happened to find some for sale. While I didn’t smoke one there, my wife did…and raved about it the whole time. Needless to say, I was really happy when I was finally able to smoke one.

No construction issues were found with the Queen B I put aside for review (I bought two). Pulling the cigar out of its plastic wrapping, I got opening pre-light aromas of wood and dried fruit with faint wood on the cold draw. After the cut and light, I got a very open draw with opening notes of spice in the back of the throat, followed by a tannin-like flavor (acidic flavor found in wine) with aftertastes of coffee. I would characterize the strength of the cigar as medium-to-full bodied to start and incredibly smooth. Around the halfway point, I noted the additions of dried fruit and peppery notes while the tannin died down. The last inch of the cigar brought everything up in intensity, crossing over into full bodied in strength. Total smoking time is a bit longer than what I have been used to, coming in at 1:41.

Besides a burn correction, I encountered no problems with the Chateau Fuente Queen B. Like the La Diosa, it is one cigar that has stuck out in my mind. I look forward to the next time I am able to smoke one.

Value: 1/1
Total: 9.5/10

To recap the Chateau Fuente Queen B:

  • A fantastic cigar with a great flavor profile from start to finish, as would be expected from one of the best in the business.
  • While I think newer smoker could handle this cigar, I probably wouldn’t share it with brand new smokers because of the strength.
  • At just over $8 a cigar, the Chateau Fuente Queen B is a fantastic value.
  • You can guarantee more of these are going to find their way to my humidor. These are more than likely going to be a box purchase when funds allow.

Finally, I wish to offer my condolensces to the Fuente family and the Arturo Fuente organization for the recent loss of Carlos Sr.. It is because of his leadership in the industry and partnership with several other great manufacturers that we have enjoyed so many great cigars.

Thank you very much for reading. I look forward to the next time I can share my thoughts with you.
