Sometime ago, my friend and I walked into Islands where we were handed a Liga Privada No. 9. The well sought after cigar was finally available. I was so excited I brought 2 and my buddy who is an occasional smoke picked up 1. I’ve been smoking them ever since. The Liga 9 is among my favorite cigars. The rich full-bodied smoke goes well with almost any libation. I’ve smoked one with coffee, Scotch, bourbon, even a full-bodied red wine like a cab or a zin. Now the Liga is a strong smoke, it is best to eat something before smoking it. If you like to start your day with a full-bodied smoke this is the one to get. However, most mortals wait for later in the day. This cigar is perfect for after dinner when you crave a bold, rich smoke, and since it is football season, it’s ideal for tailgating.
