Thoughts from the Smoking Chair – March 30th, 2018

I’ve had just enough going on between traveling for my work and music life to prevent me from getting a formal review done for today. And since it’s been a few months since my last “Smoking Chair” article, I figured today would be as good as any to do one.

What’s hanging around the humidor

Protocol K9

I somewhat recently picked up a sizeable Nub sampler from Cigars International. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve smoked any Nubs and I knew there wouldn’t be any complaints from my wife who is also a fan of them. About a month before that, I ventured over to Small Batch Cigar (Sponsor of this website) and picked up a couple of cigars that you’ll be seeing review of in the weeks to come, all of which I have enjoyed. Finally, I was able to procure a bundle of Protocol K9 cigars, after hearing about it via Cigar Dojo. Expect a review of that next week.

Libations

I’ve got nothing really new on this front. To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day a few weeks back (and the fact we were running out of whiskey in the house), I picked up a bottle of Jameson Caskmates Stout Edition. While purchasing the bottle, I noticed that Jameson is offering an IPA version of this whiskey. An IPA cask wouldn’t necessarily be the first choice I would make to pair/mate with a whiskey, but it’s certainly an interesting idea. My plan is to pick up a bottle once we get through the recently purchased Stout Edition and eventually give it a review. More of that as it comes.

That is all I have for this week. Happy Good Friday and Easter to those who celebrate. I look forward to sharing my thoughts with everyone again soon.
