At a recent Forged Cigar Company event, the rep told me about a new Alec Bradley release, actually made in the Oliva factory, and composed of all Nicaraguan tobacco. It is said the blend is one “rediscovered” in the founder’s blend book…and who am I to argue with a good marketing story? The tobacco comes from Esteli, Condega, and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua, although they don’t note what parts of the cigar come from where.
I smoked one just to see how I felt about it…and bought a couple more because I really liked it. Tonight I’m smoking the Toro, along with some Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch bourbon. The wrapper was a medium brown with a nice oily sheen and an aroma that mixed earth and leather.
Firing up the Safe Keepings, I got notes of hay and earth, black pepper, and cedar. This is a really nice cigar…probably my favorite thing from the Alec Bradley line…maybe my favorite thing out of the Oliva factory! I can’t wait for the sequels…House Keepings and Peace Keepings. LOL
