After the Nat Sherman cigar business lost its final battle to the pandemic, two former employees decided to continue the legacy of some of the brands created by the legendary cigar company. In 2021 Michael Herklots and Brendon Scott introduced Ferio Tego, LLC, and the continuation of some iconic Nat Sherman brands like Timeless, Metropolitan, and Epoca. The Timeless brand was actually applied to several cigars that did not carry that name before, including the Sterling and Panamericana, while the old original Timeless became the Timeless Prestige and the Timeless Nicaragua became the Timeless Supreme. The all still have a band that is vaguely in the shape of a wristwatch but with no hands…therefore being “timeless.” (Good dad joke from the marketing department.)
The Timeless Supreme is all Nicaraguan tobacco—filler, binder, and wrapper—they are box-pressed and come in a variety of sizes. The wrapper leaf was a dark milk chocolate brown and was quite oily to the touch. The aroma from it was very earthy, although there were hints of cocoa powder and coffee in the mix, as well. I got a lot of the same on the foot, but even richer in aroma. The prelight draw was very easy and tasted of earth, cedar, and cocoa powder, with a touch of pepper in the mix.
The same basic flavors were present when I fired up the Timeless Supreme, along with a bit of a twang of anise. It started off medium-to-full in body and just really seemed like a “quintessential” Nicaraguan cigar experience: earthy, slightly sweet, some wood, and a good amount of pepper spice, especially on the nose. At a price point of somewhere between $10 and $13 per stick, I would put this in the “definite try” category. I honestly can’t remember the old Nat Sherman Timeless Nicaragua being this good.
