Nomad Cigars recently introduced a new limited edition cigar about nine days ago. Their goal with this limited edition cigar was to create the cigar version of a waffle cone. Now I’m just as much a fan of waffle cones as anyone else but I thought this was an interesting idea, one that was too good to pass up. And it’s a good thing I decided to pull the trigger on these; they were bought out on last check of the Nomad Cigars website.

No construction issues found on the cigar chosen for review (2 of 5). The pre-light aromas were a pleasant mix of wood and cooking spices, like nutmeg. The cold draw, after a straight cut on the guillotine brought more woody notes with herb-like flavor. The draw upon light had the slightest resistance to it while opening flavors of wood (dominant on the palette), coupled with pepper and bread started the cigar. I found the cigar to be right around medium bodied with a slightly longer finish to the palette. 12 minutes in, I found more pepper creeping into the palette. 20 minutes after that, heavier wood began overtaking the flavor profile of the cigar. And throughout the rest of the cigar, this was the dominant flavor that I found from the cigar, right until the end. Total smoking time on Nomad Cigar’s Waffle Cone was 1:17.

No problems with the cigar were encountered during the entirety of its smoking.

By-The-Numbers
Pre-light: 2/2
Construction: 2/2
Flavor: 3.75/5
Value: 1/1
Total: 8.75/10

To recap the Waffle Cone:

  • I enjoyed the collection of flavors from the newest limited edition medium bodied cigar from Nomad Cigars.
  • This was easy enough on the palette that all levels of cigar smokers can enjoy this.
  • It’s on the edge of my financial comfort zone but I think this is worth the cost.
  • I would consider buying these again should they become available (I know my wife enjoyed the couple minute taste test). They would be a near instant purchase if I could get them in a sale.

Thank you all for reading.
