As luck would have it…or perhaps just because I waited so long to write the series…my 2025 Saints & Sinners Club pack showed up in the mail in the middle of the 2024 series being published. I usually smoke one round of the cigars (there are 3 rounds of 5 blends each) pretty quickly, then save the second round for review purposes, but this time, I elected to do the write-ups more immediately.
The S&S 2025 #1 is about a Corona Gorda size…I didn’t break out a ruler, but it’s about 6.5” long and about 46 ring gauge. The look and aroma is of a Connecticut Shade wrapper, which was a perfect way to start the day. It was grassy and light on the nose. With the foot being closed, I couldn’t get any aroma from there.
Lighting up, I found the smoke creamy and smooth, with light citrus and grass notes, along with just a touch of white pepper near the finish and on the nose. This felt like maybe the mildest cigar I could remember from the Tatuaje family of blends. Subsequent puffs brought out a little more complexity and I did find the flavor very nice, albeit still very mild. It was a great way to start out the morning after my baseball team secured their spot in this year’s World Series (long over by the time you read this).
Very good cigar to start this 2025 S&S series, but I will say that it caught me by surprise being so mild. I am very curious as to what this blend might be in the regular release world…or if it’s a new one that they are experimenting with.
