S&S 2024 #5

Cigar Review: S&S 2024 #5

And just like that it took me a month to get back to this series and instead of picking up the one with #2 on it, I go right to the end and smoke #5. No matter, because none of these will be posted until they’re all finished and I’ll just post them in 1 to 5 order because that’s what I intended…and no one will be the wiser…as long as I delete this paragraph before posting…

S&S 2024 #5 is a corona-sized beauty that seems just right for a Sunday morning cigar while I sip on my black French Roast coffee. The wrapper is definitely a Connecticut Shade and has a nice, clean grassy aroma to it. The closed foot prevents me from getting any aroma notes from the foot.

Sunday morning has become one of my favorite times to enjoy a cigar in peace. Make a pot of coffee, put bacon on a cookie sheet and throw it in the oven, turn on my Apple Music Chill Mix, and just enjoy the sounds of Van Morrison and Dire Straits along with the birds surrounding me. The cigar was an excellent accompaniment to this particular Sunday morning.

I got notes of hay and cedar, with a creamy texture to the smoke. There was just enough earthiness and pepper spice to keep things interesting and it all blended very well. I mentioned in the write-up on S&S 2024 #1 that Tatuaje has two Connecticut Shade brands in general…the Cabiguan that I’ve never been particularly fond of and the Négociant, which I have loved since it came out. I’d be very surprised if this was the former instead of the latter.
